OPERA
Based on Virgil’s ‘Aeneid’, Dido & Aeneas is the story of two ill-fated lovers who are sabotaged by an evil sorceress. Originally written for and performed in a London girl’s school circa 1689, this short, beautiful, and entertaining Baroque opera has it all. (Sung in English)
An all-time favourite! Legendary lover. Sadistic manipulator. Cold-blooded villain. Has there been a more irrepressible scoundrel than Don Juan? Mozart’s legendary opera follows Giovanni as he deceives his way into the hearts of women and taunts the men who love them. When an attempted conquest ends in murder, Giovanni receives a ghostly visitor who delivers retribution. (Sung in Italian with English Surtitles)
